Meet Danielle

“There are various benefits of practising yoga and everybody has their own reasons for starting. But one thing is common, yoga starts with the breath!”
Growing up Danielle was always involved in some form of extracurricular activity swimming, dancing, volleyball, etc. but somehow never took well to stretching/strengthening exercises. Eventually realising the need for flexibility, she did her first yoga class in 2015.
Her passion for yoga developed quickly from simply practicing and took a swing in another direction. In January 2016 after much persuasion from her peers, she started to teach others. She found this to be absolutely fulfilling and wanted more. Two teaching certificates later, DemiYoga Fitness was officially born!
Her main objective now is to bring yoga awareness to the Barbadian community i.e. health, mental and physical benefits of yoga. She believes yoga is for everyone, EVERYONE! The student who can magically drop into a split has just as much to learn as the student who can’t touch their toes.
As she teaches she seeks to help her students to nurture their body and mind. Some see yoga as this serious practice and granted it is, but it is also a source of joy. So her aim when you come to your mat is to be more open to learning about self, accepting of challenges and also to have fun while practicing.
Why Yoga?
Yoga started out as a physical thing but self love and growth is what I got instead. It’s one of the most freeing feelings. I am still learning daily about myself, learning about letting go, learning about change.. but more importantly learning how to be more accepting of growth.
